Semi-final line up decided for Telkom DGL Master series

The semi-final teams have been decided after four intense quarter final matches. In the first match of the day, and the third quarter final, of the Telkom DGL Masters series held at rAge Expo in Cape Town, White Rabbit Gaming lost out to Damage Control. In the second match of the day Xperts @ Total Chaos (XTC) lost out to Aperture Gaming.

Despite a valiant effort, and coming back from being 11 – 4 down at half time, White Rabbit lost two straight games 16-14 and 16-4 respectively.

In an interview with team captain Wayne “Craan” Smith he said he was proud of his teams overall performance. “We built our strategy on watching demos of how Damage Control play and targeting specific members to fight. This worked on one of the maps but not the other. Damage Control are a strong side and we wouldn’t be surprised if they took this all the way to finals.”

In the second game XTC lost two straight games 16-8 and 16-6 respectively. The team took the loss hard with the captain saying they went into it believing they would win. “We are not going to make excuses – we could have played better but the good thing is we kept the communication going within the team even when the score didn’t look so good. We can only get stronger from here,” says Johan xiN Willemse.

The first semi-final takes place this afternoon with Bravado Gaming taking on Carbon eSports. Tomorrow morning will be the second semi-final with Aperture Gaming playing Damage Control to decide the final.
