Telkom announces winners of Innovation Mega Challenge
Telkom today named Ms Tabitha Bailey the top innovator of the Open Innovation
Mega Challenge for her cloud based education platform concept.
Ms Bailey was awarded prize money of R120 000 and a free Telkom DSL service
for 24 months for her winning idea.
The challenge, set by Telkom in August 2013, called for innovative proposals
for technologies and solutions was based on a theme of products for the
future that will stimulate and drive broadband growth. The focus areas
included convergence, cloud solutions, vertical segment solutions, machine
to machine solutions, smart buildings and smart cities.
The winning proposal put forward an adaptive learning solution that creates
a unique learning path for students to engage with educators and learning
material on a digital platform.
Mr Rametse Mohasoa, was named the runner-up winning prize money of R50
000 and a free Telkom DSL service for 24 months, for his video surveillance
Telkom congratulates these innovative South African thinkers and commends
them for their creative thinking and unique proposals. The Company also
thanks participants of the challenge for their inventive submissions.
