Telkom, ABSA to provide more value to customers

Telkom today announced that it has signed a collaboration agreement with Absa and is now an official partner of the programme. The partnership sees Telkom offering Absa customers greater value and rewards when subscribing to Telkom flagship Simple and Simple Uncapped products.

"Growing our channel footprint is key to Telkom's strategy to increase market reach and provide convenience and easy access to our products and services. We believe that the Absa rewards platform is a source of quality customers and that their loyalty will give us a long tenure," says Manelisa Mavuso, Telkom's Managing Director for Consumer Services and Retail.

The Absa Rewards programme differentiates itself from other bank rewards initiatives by offering customers real cash back for simply swiping any Absa card at points-of-sale.

Delighted at being selected as preferred Go-To partner by yet another commercial giant such as Telkom, Head of Absa Retail Bank Arrie Rautenbach says: "This exclusive offer provides added incentive to approximately 1.35 million of our Absa Rewards members through a guaranteed monthly saving in cash rewards when subscribing to selected ADSL Telkom contracts, and even greater savings when purchasing Telkom mobile prepaid airtime through any one of Absa's digital banking channels."

Rautenbach adds: "Absa is proud to deliver innovation and convenience through groundbreaking developments on digital channels, but we find it equally fulfilling when we help customers prosper by addressing basic needs. Our new Telkom association makes lives much easier by simply removing some of the connectivity barriers customers experience. It again demonstrates our commitment to being relevant and underscores our quest to become South Africa's 'Go-To' bank."

Says Mavuso, "It is a win-win situation for customers. Telkom will bring great value to the table while Absa rewards them for subscribing to our products.

"By engaging customers on their preferred platform we are a step closer in creating a more accessible organisation and ultimately improving the customer experience with Telkom," he concludes.
