Telkom congratulates the Business Women of the Year winners

Telkom congratulates Dr Thandi Ndlovu, Executive Chairman and CEO of Motheo Construction Group and Ms Cristine Teixeira, CFO of Group Five Limited as the winners of the Business Women of Year in their respective categories.

Dr Ndlovu was announced as the winner in the Entrepreneurship Category. Ms Elma von Plaster, owner of Stikland Auto, and Ms Shauneen Procter, Managing Director of Idea Engineers, were the other finalists in this category.

Ms Teixeira was announced as the winner in the Corporate Category. Ms Zine Madyibi was the other finalist in the category.

Coordinated and managed by the Businesswomen's Association of South Africa (BWASA), the event has been sponsored by Telkom for a second year. Telkom values the partnership with the Business Women's Association and recognizes this event as the ideal platform for women to be acknowledged for their achievements.

"Telkom, like the BWASA, values women empowerment and recognises the important role that women from all works of life play in South Africa. We acknowledge the valuable contribution that women continue to make to the country," says Telkom's Head of Strategy Dr Miriam Altman.

"There is no doubt in my mind that the efforts made by organisations such as Telkom and BWASA to create support networks for women in business are absolutely vital. In particular, BWASA plays an invaluable role in providing leadership on issues affecting women in the workplace and, through the annual Businesswoman of the Year awards, in developing role models for women in business."

"We congratulate the winners and finalists for their incredible achievements and wish them all the best in their future endeavours," concludes Dr Altman.
