FAQ's
1. What is the impact on my Telkom invoice the first month after ordering SupremeCall?
It is important to note that the monthly rental for SupremeCall packages is payable in advance. Should a customer order the calling plan in the middle of a bill cycle, he/she will immediately receive SupremeCall benefits. Pro-rata calculations will be performed in order to determine the SupremeCall rental amount for the rest of the month in relation to the Rand value benefit for that month. This pro-rata rental amount together with the following month's advance rental will appear on the first invoice received by the customer. This means that the amount due on the first invoice will be higher than normal.
2. Does the answer to question one imply that I will not start saving as from my first month?
No, not at all, you will be making calls at pure per second rates with no minimum charge as soon as SupremeCall has been activated on your Telkom account number. Your first Telkom invoice will indicate your savings made to you. See question three for an illustration of saving on your Telkom bill.
3. How will I determine how much I saved with SupremeCall?
Your Telkom invoice will illustrate your savings to you. Please take a look at the following example of a SupremeCall invoice.
4. Can I combine 2 x SupremeCall packages on the same account?
No - Only 1 x SupremeCall package can be loaded on the same account number. No combination of packages or stacking of similar calling plans on the same account number is possible.
5. Can I top-up in the middle of the month?
No - Top-up is not possible, you can migrate however to a higher value SupremeCall calling plan.
6. All my calls made during the month were not rated at SupremeRates, I was billed at normal Telkom rates for some calls?
The SupremeCall Calling Plan excludes the following call types:
- Premium rated calls.
- Teleconferencing.
- Operated assisted calls.
- Service calls.
- WorldCall
- Carrier Select / Carrier Pre-Select.
- Calls destined to Neotel / USAL / VANS and any other approved licensees
7. What will happen to my accumulated carry over amount when I cancel?
Telkom SupremeCall is provided on a month-to-month basis, subject to either Party giving the other Party one (1) months written notice to terminate it. Should you have a SupremeCall closing balance when you cancel the calling plan, Telkom will credit your account with this balance.
8. What will happen if I make more calls than included in the rand-value of my specific SupremeCall package?
All calls made subsequently over and above the inclusive rand value of your package will be rated as per Telkom's standard published rates and billing methodology.
9.What will happen if I make fewer calls than included in the rand-value of my specific SupremeCall package?
Any unused portion of my SupremeCall rand-value will be carried forward to the next month.
10. Is there a cap on my accumulated carry over amount?
Yes - Any unused monthly portion of the plan value will be carried over to the next month, up to the limit of 12 times the monthly subscription value and any value over and above this shall be lost;
It is however not advisable to accumulate this high unused value and we would recommend that customers should downgrade before reaching the cap amount. This condition calculates to a capped carry over amount of R12, 000 for a SupremeCall R1, 000 - meaning that you did not use any of your Supremecall value for over a year.
11. How do I identify what is my accumulated carry over amount?
This information is printed monthly on your Telkom invoice in a SupremeCall summary table. The following is an example of the information contained in this summary.
In this example the cap on the accumulated carry over would be
12 times the Plan Value - 12 x R5, 263.160 = R63157.92.
This customer has a Closing balance of R55,509.698 - it is advisable to downgrade to a smaller SupremeCall package.
When cancelling, the Closing balance of R55,509.698 will be credited to this customer on this account.
