Telkom has adopted a concept of "Make that call before you dig" which aims
at elimination and prevention of telecommunication network damage by Utilities and Third Parties
working in or close proximity of Telkom network (i.e. underground infrastructure, aerial cables, SDC,
pillar joints etc). The site provide the users with relevant information on who to contact in Telkom
before embarking on projects and excavations that may impact on our infrastructure. To obtain such details
the user must double click on the Zone / Region where he/she intends to perform project / excavation.
We have also established a Toll Free Number (0800 203 951) where network damages should be reported.
To enhance the relationship with Utilities, we envisage to establish Utilities Liaison Forums to serve as a platform where
Utilities collectively address issues pertaining to right of way / wayleaves, excavations, re-instatement of surfaces etc.
