What is the difference between my username and my login name?
They are the same thing. Our computers need to know who is using our service, and so each "user" (someone who makes use of our service) is given a specific name, eight letters or less in length. One of our computers keep the records, or logs, of who is connected, when, and for how long, so this name is also called the "log-in" name.
What is my email username?
For Telkom Internet it is the same as your dialup username, without the "@telkomsa.net" i.e. everything after the "@" sign must be removed.

What are the incoming / outgoing mail servers?
When setting up your email client (MS Outlook Express), you need to specify your incoming & outgoing mail servers. Our incoming mail server is pop3.telkomsa.net and the outgoing mail server is smtp.telkomsa.net.
What is the size of a standard Telkom Internet mailbox?

Is there a limit to how many emails I can send at once?
Yes. Our mail server will not allow a user to send email messages to more than 25 email addresses in one session.
How do I get my email or dial-up settings faxed to me?
Contact the support desk on 10210 and request your details to be faxed or emailed to you. Please specify your operating system e.g. Windows 98 / 2000 / ME / XP or Mac OS.
How can I add / remove an alias on my email account?
Email a request to idirect@telkomsa.net to request an alias to be added to your account. Please specify your existing email account. You may also contact our Service Activation Team on 10210.
How do I enable email forwarding to a different email address?
You can send an email to idirect@telkomsa.net or support@telkomsa.net to request the email forwarding facility to be added to your existing email account, at NO additional charge. Please specify the email address where your email should be forwarded to. You may also contact our technical support desk or Service Activation Team on 10210. To remove forwarding, contact the same contract centres.
How many aliases do I get with one email account?
You get five aliases per email account. To order additional email aliases at R2.10 per alias, contact our Service Activation Team on 10210.

The reference number is 19 digits long.
