What is Broadband?
The term Broadband can have different meanings in different contexts. In telecommunications, Broadband is generally accepted to indicate a very high speed 'always-on' service connection allowing large amounts of information to be conveyed quickly, such as data, graphics files or video.
In South Africa, Broadband is interpreted as "An always available, multimedia capable connection with a download speed of at least 256 kbps."
Typically Broadband may be offered over several access mediums, such as ADSL or 3G.
