Network failure affects Telkom customers

Telkom’s Centurion data centre experienced a network switch failure early this morning which is currently impacting on services to customers. As a result of the failure, internet and other online services are impacted. Telkom customer contact centres and shops are currently offline. Customers will also not be able to complete Telkom transactions, including airtime and top-up purchases, and bank payment transactions until the service is restored.

“Technicians are hard at work to restore full service. We apologise for the inconvenience our customers will be experiencing. We understand this is a frustrating situation and we have prioritised this for urgent resolution, said Jacqui O’ Sullivan, Head of Group Communication and PR.

We will issue an update via media and Telkom social media and inform our customers when the service has been restored”.
