Reabetsoe Motsepe appointed as CEO of Telkom Foundation

Reabetsoe Motsepe has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Telkom Foundation with immediate effect.

For the past six years, Motsepe was the CEO of the Nedbank Foundation. She was also responsible for the Group's Public Relations, Corporate Affairs and Communication functions.

In fact, Motsepe has spent a significant part of her career in the banking industry prior to joining Telkom. At Wesbank, for example, she was primarily responsible for product development. Motsepe also drove the BEE Enterprise navbar-brand at Peoples Bank and established the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) division at Nedbank when the latter acquired Peoples Bank.

Motsepe also worked for Avis, Woolworths and Unilever where she obtained extensive experience in product navbar-brand management.

“I believe that Reabetsoe is the ideal person to lead the Telkom Foundation which was recognised by the 2009 Oliver Empowerment Awards as the country's Top Empowerment Company in CSI," said Ouma Rasethaba, Telkom's Chief of Corporate Governance.

Added Rasethaba: "Her proven expertise in the broad field of CSI, appropriate experience and keen leadership skills will benefit the Telkom Foundation as it continues to make wide-reaching contributions in creating an equal opportunity society."

Rasethaba also thanked Prelene Schmidt, who served as the Foundation's acting CEO since March 2008, for executing her duties "with great diligence and enthusiasm".
